Job Description: Requisition ID39499BRBusiness UnitCORJob DescriptionOversees geospatial reality capture technologies to help support strategic Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) initiatives through use of both existing and cutting-edge reality capture technologies and methodologies. Will lead in AEC-focused technologies for geographic mapping and analysis of the Earth and more, providing technological guidance, vision, and custom solution development for the firm.

  • Provides leadership, direction, and insight in all areas of reality capture, inclusive of the three key steps: capture, compute and create. Monitors new technologies and updates to existing technologies related to reality capture, including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and 3D laser scanning, and evaluates for potential and/or ongoing business use.
  • Manages and oversees a team of reality capture specialists, aligning the group to the Digital Engineering Solutions team’s goals and objectives along with the Geospatial Technology Leader. Evaluates performance, mentors, approves paid time off (PTO) and training, ensures human resources (HR) policies are followed and makes recommendations regarding staffing decisions.
  • Oversees development and management of a UAV governance program, including a committee, and tracking pilot hours, hardware, and insurance compliance alongside FAA requirements.
  • Collects, processes, analyzes, and formats imagery and point cloud data acquired from 3D laser scanning, UAV, aircraft, satellite, and/or ground-based platforms. Collects supporting data to corroborate UAV data analyses, such as field survey data or reported data streams. Monitors the quality of information gathered. Develops new analytical techniques and automated routines as applicable.
  • Directs, assigns, and oversees UAV and 3D laser scanning tasks as needed. Mentors and provides UAV and 3D laser scanning expertise to less experienced team members. Consults on UAV and 3D laser scanning solutions provided to the firm’s clients as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Expert knowledge and proven ability in reality capture technology.
  • Proven leadership and management capabilities with the ability to organize, plan, prioritize, and to manage time and changing priorities.
  • Demonstrates ability to be team-oriented, positive, collaborative, and reliable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate well with people from both technical and non-technical backgrounds. Possesses a strong ability to listen, ask questions, build rapport, and credibility as a strategic and diplomatic partner with our business units.

  • Detail oriented with the ability to assist with executing highly complex or specialized projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 10 years of related experience with at least 3 of those years in a management or leadership capacity.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
