Job Description: Manager, Public Practice – Permanent – 17654About the OpportunityWe are exclusively engaged with an entrepreneurial, smaller to mid-sized, established, professional accounting firm that provides a comprehensive range of accounting, advisory, assurance and taxation services to small and medium sized, owner/operator type of companies.This group has an exceptionally bright and likable Partner/Manager team and are looking for the right individual for succession planning and forecasted growth. They are located Downtown and have a hybrid working environment.The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of a complete range of professional services to their clients including:
- Planning, supervision and completion of assurance and compilation financial statements and corporate tax return
- Personal and corporate tax planning and compliance
- Supervising, training and development of fellow team members
You will gain experience working on a variety of work assignments.As a Manager, you will;
- Supervise staff and manage financial performance of various engagements
- Build and manage client relationships at a senior level
- Train and see junior staff members grow and flourish in their careers.

About YouThe successful candidate will have the following:
- Completion of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) program
- Minimum 5 – 7+ years previous experience working in a CPA firm
- Ideally,1 – 2+ years of supervisory experience in a public practice with focus on owner managed businesses
- Experience required in preparing compilation, review engagement and audit working paper files, related financial statements and corporate and personal income tax returns
- A strong working knowledge of GAAP and income tax
- Proficiency in CaseWare, Profile, QuickBooks and Sage programs
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong team player with superior technical, communication and organizational skills
- Committed to the delivery of high-quality service to our clients
- Supervisory experience with strong team leadership skills
- Proven ability to interact well with clients and team members of various levels
- Ability to work under minimal supervision, dependable and a self-starter
About the Job
- Healthy base salary $ – commensurate with years’ experience
- Ideally targeting $105,000 to $120,000+ base salary
