In this role you will be part of our administrative team providing operational support to our trademark agents and lawyers.Responsibilities.
- Enter correspondence due dates into the internal due date management system and save relevant documents to the document management system
- Provide overflow support to professionals and staff in the Trademark Group
- Proofread documents for accuracy and draft correspondence for professional approval
- Open and close files as necessary and manage the drafting and filing of trademark applications and revised applications online
- Review, report, and update internal systems related to trademark correspondence, including approval notices, advertisements, and confirmations of changes in name/title
- Other duties may be assigned or amended as required
Qualifications and experience.
- Legal Assistant Diploma/Certificate or Law Clerk Degree
- Minimum of 1 year relevant working experience. Previous experience with Canadian trademarks would be considered an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deal directly with clients and all levels of staff
- Excellent attention to detail, highly organized and proactive
- Highly proficient in MS Office and ability to learn new software and technology quickly
