Additionally, we offer a diverse array of accredited residency training programs, graduate programs, and unique training experiences, all under the guidance of our dedicated teaching staff.PositionThe position involves performing a wide variety of research laboratory tasks and experiments, making detailed observations, analyzing data, interpreting results, and troubleshooting. Duties also include assisting with reports, summaries and protocols regarding experiments; maintaining familiarity with current scientific literature; assisting with maintaining laboratory equipment and inventory levels for laboratory supplies; assisting with obtaining quotes, ordering equipment and supplies for laboratory operation, and laboratory biosafety training and upkeep of biosafety records. The employee will be involved with handling and processing human biological research samples as well as assisting with the maintenance of sample storage and database inventory.Duties

  • Maintain and operate flow cytometry equipment. Perform assays for phenotypic and functional characterization of human blood and tissue samples using flow cytometry-based assays, microscopy etc.
  • Supervising Students. Assist with in-lab supervision of undergraduate and graduate students
  • Sample processing/cell isolation. Handle and process human blood, serum, plasma and tissue samples
  • Reagent inventory. Requesting quotes, maintaining organized records
  • Analysis/Report preparation. Conduct experiments following SOPs, monitor results, compile and analyze data. Provide input for protocol development and optimization of processes
  • Quality Assurance. Maintain well-organized data records. Assist with chemical and biosafety training of laboratory personnel and with maintenance of chemical and biosafety records.

Qualifications

  • BSc Immunology required, MSc Immunology preferred
  • 2-5 years related experience in a research environment with prior immunology/transplant research preferred
  • Experience with flow cytometry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Flow Jo
  • Experience working independently and with a team
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in immunology-related laboratory assays
  • Experience with cell isolation and culture
  • Troubleshooting
  • Consenting research subjects/family members is preferred
  • Experience in complex immune assays is preferred
