Des discussions fréquentes soit par écrit ou verbal avec des fournisseurs, des clients et des collègues anglophones seront nécessaires.The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for printed and laminated products. Working closely with the operations teams, his goal is to optimize printing and lamination processes while reducing production costs and scrap and maximizing equipment efficiency. He works closely with the development team to support new business opportunities.More specifically:
- Set up and implement waste reduction projects.
- Improve the performance of existing products by proposing and supporting changes in manufacturing processes to reduce production costs.
- Participate in the design of work procedures for lamination presses and equipment.
- Lead continuous improvement workgroups with stakeholders.
- Support management in certain engineering processes or to improve equipment efficiency.
- Identify, investigate, and provide solutions to recurring problems that lead to non-conformance or loss of production and efficiency.
- Increase equipment reliability by maintaining it in optimum condition and identifying critical parts.
Education:
- Mechanical or chemical engineering degree
- Or a technical degree with 5-10 years’ experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Skills and requirements:
- Ability to work without supervision
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, MRP and/or experience with Six Sigma
- Bilingualism (French and English)
- Organized, results oriented and ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of mechanical controls an asset
