Job Description: Jr. AccountantCalgary, ABAbout the RoleWe’re Hiring for a Jr. Accountant to join LodgeLink’s Accounting & Finance team in Calgary, AB. This role is hybrid – in-office with 20% flexibility to work from home.The Junior Accountant is an integral part of the LodgeLink Finance team and loves digging into complex data – has a keen eye for detail, working with our Accounting team on SG&A management, month end processes, and working with the team to meet deadlines. Essential skills for this role include strong interpersonal and communication skills to build quality relationships with the team and with our external stakeholders. This role will work alongside the Finance and Operations teams to manage a specified vendor listing and reconcile vendor accounts. They should have strong attention to detail and excel skills, with a desire to grow.Duties & ResponsibilitiesSG&A

  • Create blanket purchase orders for all SG&A expenses
  • Ensure all invoices have been processed in a timely manner
  • Ensure appropriate approval and supporting documentation exists for all purchase orders & invoices
  • Perform vendor reconciliations
  • Respond to vendor inquiries, maintain good relations, and solve problems
  • Respond to business unit inquiries and maintain good inter -company relations
  • Monitor Vendor Accounts to ensure payments are up to date
  • Prepare Journal entries to book employee as well as corporate credit card expenses
  • Coordinate with Corporate AP & Treasury to ensure payment was processed
  • Requests new vendor setup

Month-End

  • Prepare and enter adjusting journal entries for month end as well as support with account reconciliation.
  • Collaborating with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial data through BI reporting.
  • Support other accounting functions as required.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 1-2 years experience in a finance related role
  • Excel knowledge and experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to present findings/analysis and ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment as required.
