Job Description: Job Description:Our client in Calgary is seeking a committed and detail-oriented Joint Venture Accountant with intermediate experience in Excel to join their financial team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate is expected to have comprehensive knowledge of joint venture accounting, financial transactions, and thorough proficiency in Excel.Responsibilities:

• Manages the daily operation of the joint venture accounting function.
• Advise on joint venture project structuring including equity waterfall models, debt structuring, and other related matters.
• Preparing monthly financial statements, reports, forecasts, and budgets.
• Ensuring data accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Assisting in auditing and tax planning as required.
• Fully managing and controlling Excel spreadsheets.
• Conducting financial analysis through Excel functions and macros.
• Ad-hoc duties as requested.

Requirements:Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a joint venture setting.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, vlookups and macros.
• Knowledge of accounting software and databases.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Available to start immediately.
