We are seeking a motivated, analytical, and hardworking individual with a passion for Information Systems. This person will be responsible for understanding and documenting current systems and business processes that they support. They will provide technical support and subject matter expertise on business applications to trouble shoot user-oriented issues and implement improved business processes. They will make recommendations for improvements to the applications and working with external service providers to ensure that all business information systems are functioning optimally. What will you do?This role of IS Application Specialist will be reporting to Director IT. Your primary accountabilities will be to:Application Support
- Supporting current ERP system with various support and technical issues
- Responsible for data import/export to/from various systems
- Provides data extraction support to business teams
- Set-up and deploy Point of Sales (POS) systems with menus, prices, user administration and configuration
- Investigate user identified application issues through review of data set-up, user procedures applied prior to the incident, existing system capabilities, application history and system interdependencies
- User administration of various systems including but not limited to Macola, DocuSign, Volante, Momentus, Clover, Global Payments etc.
- Performs trouble shooting with applications and works with outside vendors to resolve issues
- Supports and optimizes current applications working with internal customers to ensure system is performing as required
- Performs seasonal set up of applications and systems
- Ensure that services and systems are optimized, updated and monitored
- Assist with filling out annual IT/IS audits
Training
- Provide technical guidance to staff and answer help desk inquiries as required
- Manages the implementation of new applications including coordination of user acceptance testing and training
- Develops additional tools and training to optimize current applications
Enhancement and Implementation
- Assist with system implementation plans for new systems including ERP system
- Plans and coordinates proof of concept testing of upgrades and new services, ensuring systems will operate correctly in current and future environments
- Participates in the identification and development of new and enhanced department standards, guidelines and procedures
- Works with business leads to determine technology requirements and propose solutions
- Determine application criteria based on the organization’s requirements for new or modifications to existing applications
- Works with current technology solutions to optimize performance of those solutions to meet current and future business needs
Documentation
- Document issues, observations and outcomes
- Create and maintain knowledge base for various processes, applications and setup
- Maintain data inventory as per policies and procedures
- Create and maintain inventory of POS terminals and pin-pads
What else?
- Completed a Computer Science/IT degree or diploma program
- Must have a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
- 3-5 years’ work experience supporting business applications and database
- 3-5 years’ experience with Power Apps, advanced Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables) and MS SQL
- Experience creating reporting Dashboards (Power BI or similar platforms)
- Experience managing various technical projects
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross functional teams
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends when required
- Excellent communication abilities and customer service skills
- Ability to speak, read and write English for the purposes of written and oral instructions, and preparation of work-related document or reports
- Must be a good team player with the ability to work well with others and demonstrate a professional demeanor
- Strong analytical and problem–solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and design optimal process solutions
- Must be a self-starter with strong work ethic and able to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to multitask, work in a high-pressure environment while meeting tight deadlines
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. for the purposes of carrying and installing work related equipment

The role is a permanent, full-time position with a typical salary range of $78,000 – $88,000 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, experience, and internal pay structures.
