Job Description: Job Description:Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS-related work, Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.The Intern, Corporate Supply Chain, has a broad exposure to various tasks and supports the development and implementation of policies and processes as well as daily operational functions. A crucial part of this role is the hands-on experience in the respective field of expertise and the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge today-to-day work.Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 889 Harbourside Drive, North Vancouver.What you’ll do

  • Learning company procedures and processes and applying theoretical knowledge to propose improvements to increase business efficiency.
  • Prepares analytics, reports, and various documentation specific.
  • Reviews available data and manipulates data to reach intended outcomes.
  • Collects and enters data into various internal systems.
  • Performs various duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring

  • Enrollment in a university degree program, with a specialization in Supply Chain, Finance, Human Resources, Engineering, or similar program.
  • Knowledge of methodology and tools relevant to the internship assignment.
  • Experience working with data, through academic research, independent projects, or prior internships.
  • Ability to analyze data from various data sources.
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Power BI).
  • Interpersonal skills including problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of marine operations and shipbuilding is an asset.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
