Job Description: Description :Pharmascience Canada, with more than 50 employees in the finance department, is looking for an Intermediate Financial Analyst for the Global Operations group. The Finance Global Operations group is a partner to the Operation, Quality and Supply Chain teams, helping in the decision-making process from the purchasing of the raw materials to the conversion of a finished products that can be sold by one of the 3 sales business units. The products are either produced at the Royalmount site (tablets or capsules), Candiac site (injectables) or from third party suppliers (tablets and capsules). The Global Operations are also supporting the research and development group for the development of new generic products to support future markets.This is a development position and Pharmascience has a rotational program in place to develop employees in all the finance areas (such as sales business, global operations, corporate, and research and development).Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Intermediate Financial Analyst will be a key member of the finance team, supporting operation team with different performance analyses and to provide forecast to support the growth of the organization.Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Analyze the financial results, including highlighting accounting issues and providing explanations for any variances to budget
  • Develop, analyze, prepare and improve reports to achieve financial targets and goals
  • Participate and review budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Participate, support and drive corporate wide financial priorities & initiatives
  • Assist with several areas of period and year-end closing processes, such as inventory counts, posting journal entries, accrued liability reconciliations, etc.
  • Tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and preparing financial reports on production variances versus standards
  • Provide support in cost evaluation for standard costs

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business with a focus on accounting and/or finance
  • 2-4 years experience accounting and finance in manufacturing and logistics environment.
  • Experience in costing/variance analysis will be an asset.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Excel skills, including Pivot tables, Vlookups, etc.
  • Independent, self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, highly acquisitive, changing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and deadline oriented

BachelorExperience : 0 years: Experience in costing/variance analysis
2 years: Experience accounting and finance in manufacturing and logistics environment
