What you’ll doThe philosophy department is looking for a qualified candidate to teach 2 -3 sections of introduction to ethics in the Spring 2025 term. Beyond the spring term, the successful candidate may be offered further sections drawing from a range of philosophy courses. These are mostly at an an introductory level and will generally include introduction to ethics, applied ethics and metaphysics and epistemology.Non-Regular faculty are valued members of our department, participating fully in departmental decision-making. Although Non-Regular positions are subject to work availability, these appointments come with a clear pathway to regularization (i.e., permanent work) as per the Capilano Faculty Association’s Collective Agreement.
What you’ll bring

  • Preference will be given to candidates with (or very near completion of) a PhD in Philosophy. Candidates with a Master’s degree in Philosophy and demonstrated excellence in teaching will be considered.
  • Demonstrated excellence in post-secondary teaching in philosophy, preferably including introductory courses.
