This is a 4-month, full-time paid internship starting in January 2025.Location: On-site at 201 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

P&H is growth-oriented, diversified and vertically integrated with operations spanning across grain merchandising, flour milling, crop input distribution and animal feed production.Your Role As the Human Resources (HR) Intern, you will provide administrative support to the HR team across P&H’s three divisions. This role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic business environment, allowing you to gain valuable industry knowledge and skills to help build your career.Day to Day

  • Assist HR Business Partners:
  • Develop or modify HR policies, forms and templates.
  • Organize and maintain electronic HR files and update information on SharePoint.
  • Coordinate the service awards program.
  • Run reports, analyze data, and make recommendations for improvements in areas like exit interviews and turnover rates.
  • Conduct market and industry research on topics such as job evaluations, compensation reviews, competitor analysis and upcoming regulatory changes.
  • Support the Talent Acquisition team:
  • Screen resumes and conduct phone interviews.
  • Assist with souring efforts related to the talent strategy.
  • Manage the internal HR weekly newsletter.
  • Assist with planning for the summer internship program.
  • Help improve internal processes related to the recruitment cycle.
  • Participate in monthly HR department meetings.
  • Contribute to other projects and initiatives as needed, such as Pay Equity and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in post-secondary education with a focus on Human Resources.
  • Strong technical aptitude with hands-on experience in Microsoft 365 Application Suite, specifically Excel, SharePoint and Teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail, along with communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Previous experience within a complex organizational structure, such as in manufacturing or operational settings, is considered an asset.
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition or Health & Safety is a plus.
