Job Description: Job Description:Robert Half has partnered with a Canadian-based contractor that works in many different sectors with a focus on maintenance and construction. Our valued client is looking to add a dynamic people leader to manage the HR function and to work closely with the Operations team. Here is what you get to do:

  • Work closely with Operations to support successful completion of projects
  • Foster strong relationships with all stakeholders
  • Manage the day to day activities of the HR team
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all HR related matters and provide trusted and value-added advice to leaders
  • Promote a healthy and safe work environment
  • Show resilience, tact and agility in problem-solving in dynamic environments

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a HR Leadership role (i.e. Manager, Director)
  • Experience in large scale project construction projects is a must
  • General contractor experience would be considered an asset
  • Union experience would be considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively build trust with all stakeholders
  • Proven track record in managing employee relations and ensuring a positive working environment
  • Experience in both technical and high volume recruitment, demonstrating ability to attract and retain top talent
  • Formal HR degree/diploma is required; HR designation not required but considered an asset
