Title of the Job: HRIS Specialist

Location: North Vancouver, BC

Job Description: Responsible for the configuration, implementation, and integration of the organization’s HR systems to support HR processes, the HR Systems Specialist will be responsible for understanding HR programs, processes, and payroll administration to leverage system improvements to support the organization in achieving optimized transactions and processes.Note: This position also qualifies for optional hybrid work. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.What you’ll do

  • Proactively supervise, support, and maintain Oracle HCM and JD Edwards Enterprise One system.
  • Coordinates, supports, and solves problems scheduled reports, interface, and connectivity issues with other internal and external systems.
  • Proactively learn and understand Oracle System Updates and develop plan for implementation, training, and user support.
  • HR system data management; audit for accuracy and compliance.
  • Technical point-of-contact and assists domain authorities with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, and analyzing data. flows for process improvement opportunities.
  • Understand day-to-day operations to maintain the accuracy and integrity of data when processing reports; work with other HR functional areas to correct discrepancies.
  • Recommend and maintain procedures for users to ensure efficiency and data integrity including but not limited to user guides and process workflows documents.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and alignment to internal audit processes as well as policies.
  • Find opportunities for improving Human Resources processes through information systems changes and enabling new functionalities.
  • Support HR system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Provide business process and HR systems knowledge, ensuring any new developments and enhancement meet business requirements efficiently and cost effectively.
  • Conducts analysis and review of system upgrades and patches to assess impacts to business processes (including payroll) and technical design.
  • Works in conjunction with internal and external IT professionals to provide support for application maintenance, modifications, integrations, and enhancements as required through problem solving, testing, analysis, reports, and documentation.
  • Provides reports from respective systems as needed.
  • Domain authority for JD Edwards Enterprise One, Oracle HCM, & Saba.

What you’ll bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required in a relevant subject area (HR, IT, economics or mathematics preferred).
  • 3-5 years’ experience with large-scale Human Capital Management and Payroll systems specifically JD Edwards & Oracle HCM.
  • Sophisticated Excel skills.
  • Ability to develop detailed work plans with appropriate resource requirements.
  • Tight-knit collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Project management skills including the ability to coordinate, complete and plan large-scale projects.
  • Ability to combine HR functional knowledge with deep technical expertise to drive process and system efficiencies/standard methodologies, promote data integrity and ensure deliver of accurate reporting of data to the business.
  • Excellent consultive, organization, customer service, analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to communicate both to a technical audience and business users.
  • Demonstrable experience building reports, defining requirements, and understanding how information is organized.
  • Experience implementing and handling HR technology programs including change management and communications.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving sophisticated HR systems issues.

The estimated salary for this position is $72,000 – $88,000. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity.
