Title of the Job: Food Service Aide

Location: Calgary, AB

Job Description: Our Calgary client provides long term care and rehabilitation to adults in our community, and they are seeking a Food Service Aide to join their team right away. If you have previous experience in a food services and looking to work in a care facility, we’d love to speak with you!Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparation and serving of meals following a set menu
• Ensure food is stored properly following kitchen policies and procedures
• Create daily reports of transactions
• Ensure that proper diets are given to the correct residents
• Monitor eating habits for the welfare of guests
• Maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring safe use of all equipment
• Cleans dinnerware, equipment, and dining / kitchen area thoroughly
• Garbage disposal as required
• Other tasks as required

Requirements:

• Adhere to all food safety polices and procedures
• Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written)
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, stretching, and lifting heavy objects
• Possesses or is willing to acquire Level 1 Food Safety Certification
• Positive attitude, friendly demeanor toward guests and staff
• Patient, flexible, and enjoy keeping busy between meal service
• Must be agreeable to a vulnerable sector check as part of employment
