Title of the Job: Food & Beverage Supervisor

Location: Carlyle, SK

Job Description: Main DutiesReporting to the Food & Beverage Coordinator, this position ensures that Casino guests enjoy exceptional customer service, memorable facilities, and quality, value priced dining, by supervising front-of-house staff and activities, and by supervising the set up and execution of events held in the Casino’s multi-purpose room (MPR).Responsibilities include: Supervising Casino restaurant and catering operations, with particular attention to maintaining the highest levels of guest relations. Assisting department management with staffing and performance management. Communicating policies, procedures and standards to staff. Monitoring and verifying accuracy of staff cash handling. Revising staff schedules to meet operational needs and control costs. Carrying out a wide variety of administrative tasks. Designating, assigning, and overseeing work assignments and breaks in a fair and equitable manner.Specific catering/event responsibilities include: overseeing room set up per event plan instructions; communicating effectively with other Casino departments regarding event requirements; and monitoring provision of guest service throughout the event. Participating in other projects and activities as required, to ensure the smooth operating of the restaurant, bar, and catering operations.Conditions of Employment

  • Successful candidates are subject to a background check as well are required to obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA)/Indigenous Gaming Regulators (IGR).
  • The minimum age to work in a casino or any area where gaming can be seen is 19 years of age.
  • Must possess valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
  • Some SIGA locations operate in a high sensory environment. You may be required to work in an environment where you will be exposed to tobacco smoke, high noise levels, flashing and blinking lights, and a congested workplace. SIGA adheres to all occupational health and safety regulations and makes every effort to limit the adverse effects of these elements.

  • Compliance with all regulatory requirements as may be applicable to your position including but not limited to both SLGA requirements and the Anti-Money Laundering requirements set out in the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and regulations and policies made thereunder by Canada and FINTRAC.

QualificationsEducation

  • Successful completion of a 1 year certificate in a related field (Hospitality, Restaurant/Bar Management, Business, Bartending etc.) or a combination of relevant education, training and/or experience.
  • Successful completion of a Food Safe Certificate.

Experience

  • Candidates will have 3 years experience in food and beverage operations and experience assisting with recruitment, training and coaching staff while in a supervisor role.
