Title of the Job: Fleet Equipment Engineer

Job Description: How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?The Fleet Equipment Engineer provides technical and maintenance support to the Canadian fleet operational team. They will develop and maintain technical equipment purchasing and refurbishment specifications and act as a liaison with vendors to improve overall fleet reliability, availability, and maintainability.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESCryogenic Fleet Management:● Work with fleet and operational teams to improve overall Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) of the fleet. Manage the technical specifications associated to the Fleet’s Cryogenic Trailer, Railcar, Tractor, and associated maintenance programs. Develop, maintain and assist operational and maintenance procedures related to cryogenic transport and delivery subsystems.● Interpret regulatory requirements, Air Liquide Group Policy documents and design standards to implement and maintain fleet equipment that complies with all regulatory, Airgas and Air Liquide corporate safety standards.● Organize / plan / budget equipment refurbishments including trailer, mini bulk, tube trailers and tractors. Oversees Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulatory watchTechnical Expertise:● Technical liaison between Fleet operations and Vendors including development and maintenance of equipment specifications, refurbishments, quality, design changes, design approvals and new applications. Provide technical review and approval for fleet equipment management of change (MOC) requests. Review Technical Qualification of critical suppliers. Coach and support developing employees to expand their technical knowledge.Continuous Improvement:● Identify and implement efficiencies and improvements to equipment designs to ensure continuous improvement within the fleet. Originate innovative design improvements to enhance tons per trip and minimize product losses. Participate in selected incident investigations involving cryogenic transport system or subsystems. ​Are you a MATCH?REQUIRED EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONSRequired Education:● Bachelor’s degree in applicable engineering discipline required. Masters degree in applicable engineering discipline preferredRequired Length & Type of Experience:● 3+ years’ experience with Cryogenic Systems and Design in the industrial gas industry, preferred.● 2+ years experience with industrial transportation and mechanical equipment, preferred.● Working knowledge / experience with MIR-RT (computerized Maintenance Management System) is preferred.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:● Demonstrated knowledge of cryogenic and gaseous transport equipment (Transport Canada (CSA B620, CSA B622, CSA B339 and CSA B340), DOT (MC331 and MC338), ASME, and CGA (CGA341)).● Preparation of specifications and working instructions with the ability to write clearly and succinctly with correct grammar.● Able to interpret system P&ID’s and electrical schematics.● Working knowledge and use of Autocad to prepare and revise P&ID’s and electrical schematics.● Ability to lay out and progress rigorous analysis and problem solving with heavy degrees of ambiguity, complexity and incompleteness of data.● Strong influencing skills to ensure recommendations made gain support in the business.● Working knowledge in industry standards including transport mechanical, process, and electrical systems.● Working knowledge of physical and chemical properties of industrial gases including LH2, LCO2, He, and atmospheric gases.● Able to interface effectively with technical and operations staff at Corporate and field level.● Familiarity with applicable regulations including CEC, NEC, OSHA, Life Safety codes, ASME standards, and CGA documents.Our Differences make our PerformanceAt Air Liquide, we are committed to build a diverse and inclusive workplace that embraces the diversity of our employees, our customers, patients, community stakeholders and cultures across the world.We welcome and consider applications from all qualified applicants, regardless of their background.
