Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Cloud Financial Operations Specialist to enhance our financial management processes related to cloud resources. This role involves analyzing cloud expenditure trends, optimizing costs, and collaborating with various teams to ensure effective financial governance.The location is Montreal or Toronto.The responsibilities would be:– Support cloud financial management tools and platforms.
– Analyze cloud spending patterns to uncover cost-saving opportunities and discuss findings with stakeholders.
– Create and maintain comprehensive financial reports and dashboards, delivering actionable insights to stakeholders.
– Collaborate on improving cloud forecasting and budgeting practices.
– Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to cloud financial governance policies.
– Assist in the implementation and oversight of cloud financial operations as needed.
– Communicate findings and recommendations to finance, engineering, and leadership teams to support informed decision-making.
– Develop automated data pipelines, visualizations, and enterprise dashboards to centralize critical information for cloud usage.
– Identify and implement process improvements to enhance IT finance efficiency.
– Monitor the efficiency of cloud resources, report any compliance issues, and work with teams to implement improvements.
– Create detailed cost and usage reports with recommendations for cost reduction strategies, such as reserved instances and spot purchasing.
– Ensure compliance with tagging policies and maintain data feeds for automated reporting dashboards.
– Contribute technical expertise to enhance cloud infrastructure governance practices related to cost tracking, including tagging standards and optimal resource provisioning.The required experience is below:– 3 years of experience with cloud financial management tools.
– 3 to 5 years of experience in IT finance management.
– Experience in financial controls, including forecasting, budgeting, and expense analysis.
– 3 to 5 years of experience developing data and analytics products using cloud technologies.
– 2+ years of experience working with API development teams and fostering an API-first culture.
– 2+ years of experience leading budgetary meetings with stakeholders to align spending with budgets and address deviations.
– 1+ years of experience with cloud financial operations principles and frameworks.
– 2+ years of experience managing costs and optimizing public cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
– 2+ years of experience in financial management for hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
– 3+ years of working experience with ApptioThe required skills are below:– Cloud financial management tools (e.g., Apptio, PowerBI)
– AWS, Azure, and/or GCP proficiency
– Familiarity with project management practices to lead financial operations initiatives.
