Title of the Job: Exciting PhD Opportunity: Explore Cutting-Edge Research on Acute Inflammation and Senescence Signaling in Kidney Disease

Location: Montreal, QC

Job Description: Offer DescriptionDr. Casimiro Gerarduzzi’s research focuses on understanding the critical roles of acute inflammation and cellular senescence in the progression of renal diseases. The selected PhD candidate will apply cutting-edge genomics and proteomics techniques to unravel the complex signaling pathways that drive these processes. A key part of the project involves validating novel findings through both in vitro experiments and in vivo studies, employing diverse models of kidney injury. By dissecting these pathways, the research aims to discover new therapeutic targets and biomarkers that could have significant clinical implications for treating kidney disease. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact research that bridges basic science and translational medicine.Where to apply E-mail[email protected]RequirementsResearch Field Medical sciences » Health sciences Education Level Master Degree or equivalentSkills/QualificationsWe are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our dynamic research team in the field of molecular biology. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in cell and molecular biology, with proficiency in spoken and written English considered an asset but not a requirement. The successful candidate will demonstrate precision, reliability, and excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively in our multidisciplinary environment. The research project will focus on investigating the molecular mechanisms of inflammation and senescence using cutting-edge in vitro and in vivo techniques.Expertise in advanced methodologies such as single-cell RNA sequencing, mass spectrometry-based proteomics (MS/MS), Seahorse metabolomics, and primary/immortalized cell culture is highly desirable. Experience with mouse models involving genetic manipulations and injury models, as well as translating research findings to human samples, including histological, plasma, and urine analyses, will be a significant advantage. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art research tools, advancing our understanding of molecular processes linked to inflammation and senescence. The successful candidate will be encouraged to think critically, design and execute experiments, analyze data, and communicate findings through scientific publications and presentations. We are dedicated to fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) within our research environment. We strongly encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds and experiences, as we recognize that a diverse team enhances creativity and drives innovation in scientific discovery. If you are passionate about molecular biology and eager to make meaningful contributions to this field, we invite you to apply.Languages ENGLISH Level GoodResearch Field Medical sciences » Health sciencesBiological sciences » BiologyAdditional InformationWork Location(s)Number of offers available 1 Company/Institute University of Montreal Country Canada State/Province QC City Montreal Postal Code H1T 2M4 Street 5415, boulevard de l’Assomption GeofieldContact State/ProvinceQC CityMontreal WebsiteStreet5415, boulevard de l’Assomption Postal CodeH1T 2M4 E-Mail[email protected] Phone5142523400STATUS: EXPIREDShare this page
