People will count on you to think outside the box and provide creative solutions. You will build a profitable portfolio of Management Liability accounts with an emphasis on quoting new business by utilizing your experience.This is a hybrid opportunity out of our Calgary or Vancouver office.What you’ll do here:Analyze requests for quotes, renewals and policy changes, and recommend innovative solutionsSupport brokers regarding underwriting and rating policiesDevelop long-term and meaningful relationships with our broker partners by providing legendary serviceParticipate in broker visits, insurance industry functions and marketing events in support of broker relationship developmentUse negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the companyProvide technical advice, recommendations, and mentoring to team membersProvide creative solutions on how to improve the department and increase efficienciesQualificationsYou succeed at what you do because you are a:Relationship builder understanding the importance of cultivating trusting relationshipsSkilled communicator and excel at influencing othersProblem solver who can think on your feetNegotiator and make high-quality decisionsAre results driven and continuously seek to strive for excellenceTeam player, because you understand that the whole is greater than the sum of its partsWhat you bring to the table:Minimum 3 years of D&O underwriting experienceUniversity degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management or any combination of equivalent education and experienceStrong verbal and written communication skills because you understand the importance of building relationships by tailoring your approach when dealing with different communication stylesExemplary sales, negotiation, and customer service skillsA track record of mentoring and training UnderwritersPositive, solution-oriented and adaptable attitudeSelf-driven and able to work effectively under pressureAnalytical and flexible to changeNo Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada#LI-HybridSalary of the successful candidate will typically be positioned between the following range, taking into consideration a number of factors including prior experience, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, location and internal equity: $65,000.00 – $97,600.00What we offerWorking here means you’ll be empowered to be and do your best every day.
