Job Description: Permanent Full TimeWe are looking for a Director, Technical Solutions to lead our Security Technology teams as we scale.If you are called to make an impact, comfortable with change at scale, passionate about security technologies, love to learn, and create world-class customer experiences, this is a great opportunity to grow and contribute to a world class team!Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in one of our head office locations: Toronto, London, or Winnipeg.Role DescriptionThe Director, Technical Solutions for Cloud and Network Security Services will be responsible for creating a vision for their products/services and delivering on that vision. You are responsible for all facets of securing these technologies including driving adoption, strategy, roadmaps, ongoing enhancements, engineering, and operations of these platforms.Our Ideal candidate will be strong technically will a good eye for business and an inspiring presence! You have experience in designing and operating Security Services as products/ecosystems with continuous service improvement mindset. You have not only led strategies/product roadmaps for these technologies but also championed adoption. You have a strategic mind and operate as a senior leader that influences business and company strategy.What You will do:Oversee the product/technology security roadmaps, architecture, design, and implementation for Cloud and Network Security Services. The underlying technologies supporting the above services include but not limited to IPS, DDOS, NGFW, SDN/ACI, Prisma Cloud, CASB, AWS Cloud Security, Azure Cloud Security, and GCP Cloud SecurityLead a cross-functional team to design, build and operate Cloud and Network Security solutions to meet business requirementsCollaborate with Cloud Dev/Ops and network squad to ensure effectiveness of security policesProvide security technology innovation by promoting a culture of technology innovation and by rapid prototyping of new and emerging technologiesCollaborate closely with multiple teams including vendors to deliver product/technology improvements and common reusable componentsDrive service/platform automation and engineering improvements that will accelerate delivery, increase quality, and reduce maintenance and change fail ratesSuccessfully define and implement operational engineering disciplineEnsure service/platform instrumentation is in place for proactive monitoring, observability and responsive incident triage and resolutionImplement and maintain platform automation and engineering best practices, standards, and guidelinesDrive a high-performance culture for staff and promote positive culture change within the organizationBuild strong and trusted relationships with internal and external partnersManage risk and compliance in accordance with Canadian and Global standards. Ensure alignment/adherence to enterprise technology standards, vendor management standards, and risk standards.Focus on continuous learning and professional developmentDrive an agile mindset within the team that measures progress over perfectionHold yourself and your team accountable to contribute to the overall digital modernization of the organizationEnsure solutions are enhanced, secured, and upgraded to evolve the product roadmapsEnsure effective and efficient use of financial and people resourcesIdentify and invest in opportunities (processes, training, systems) to enhance individual and team effectivenessWhat you’ll bring:Post-secondary degree/diploma in business or computer science or an equivalent combination of training and experience10+ years experience in an engineering/technology leadership positionSolid background in engineering and operating Security Technology SolutionsExperience in designing and implementing security controls in cloudTrack record for leading IT transformational initiatives in sophisticated environmentsSuccess in using both standard methodologies, such as IT service management practices based on ITIL as well as agile philosophies like DevOpsAbility to adapt to a fast-moving technology landscape and keep pace with latest thinking and new technologiesTrack record of building and effectively managing large and diverse teams and putting the appropriate processes and infrastructure in place to drive growthDemonstrate ability to formulate high level strategy, then convert it into a tactical plan and execute on that planProven experience as a business-focused, credible leader in a large fast growing technology companyDrives results and changes processes to improve performance; creates a culture of accountabilityHas a bias to actionAbility to use knowledge of industry, business, and systems to solve business problemsSolid understanding of delivery enablement techniques such as automated testing and automated deploymentsAbility to pivot and quickly change direction in response to changing prioritiesExperience coaching and mentoring technical practitionersStrong communication, collaboration and relationship building skillsProven ability to develop and maintain collaborative business relationshipsExperience working in financial services industry will be an assetWhat will set you apart:You have a unique balance of technical and leadership skills with an entrepreneurial mindsetHave experience designing & implementing security technologies in cloudProven experience in engineering & operating above security technologiesExperience in product ownership, agile and Dev/Ops methodologiesYou demonstrate approachability, innovation and thought leadershipYou are a systems thinker, an effective communicator, and can find balance when to be tactical vs strategicThe base salary for this position is between $89,800 – $166,300 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
