By transforming complex financial data from our capital markets business into clear, actionable insights, you will equip leaders with the knowledge they need to drive future growth.AccountabilitiesThis role requires a deep understanding of the factors that drive profitability in banking and capital markets, along with a commitment to staying ahead of industry trends. A key responsibility will be to cultivate relationships throughout ATB to facilitate information sharing and collaboration. This will lead to a deeper understanding of our clients and enable us to identify more opportunities to deliver exceptional value.Leadership & Talent Development:

  • Cultivate a high-performing team: Lead and mentor a team of analytical experts, fostering a culture of accountability and driving them to deliver impactful insights that elevate strategic decision-making across ATB.
  • Champion continuous learning: Guide and elevate the team’s strategic planning acumen by providing opportunities for professional development and creating an environment that encourages innovative thinking and challenges traditional approaches to profitability analysis.

Strategic Impact & Influence:

  • Drive strategic dialogue: Proactively engage with senior leaders and peers, challenging them to think critically about profitability measures and advocating for data-driven approaches to optimize financial performance.
  • Shape ATB’s profitability strategy: Leverage deep analytical insights to formulate recommendations and present compelling solutions that shape and accelerate ATB’s long-term profitability strategy.
  • Enhance organizational transparency: Centralize and democratize access to key financial metrics and insights, promoting transparency and efficiency across teams and empowering data-driven decision-making at all levels.

Analytical Excellence & Client Focus:

  • Bridge the gap between data and strategy: Oversee the seamless integration of quantitative and qualitative analysis, collaborating effectively with business units and finance teams to extract meaningful insights from internal and external data sources.
  • Drive client-centric growth: Champion ATB’s client-obsessed culture by unearthing valuable customer insights from data analysis, informing strategic decisions that enhance profitability and deliver exceptional client experiences.
  • Anticipate future opportunities: Continuously monitor industry trends and competitive behaviors to identify emerging opportunities for growth and profitability, ensuring ATB remains at the forefront of the market.

Communication & Stakeholder Management:

  • Influence executive decision-making: Confidently present compelling, profit-based analyses to the Executive team, effectively communicating complex financial information and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders: Engage with key stakeholders to understand the levers that impact economic profitability, conducting sensitivity analyses and establishing key performance thresholds to guide strategic decision-making.

Skills, experience & requirements

  • 3 Years + leadership and coaching experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field
  • Professional designations such as CPA, MBA, CFA, FRM, or PRM designation
  • Strong understanding of the banking industry and capital markets
  • 10+ years of experience in financial services, with deep expertise in capital markets, corporate finance, or client-facing roles
  • Exceptional presentation skills, with experience presenting to executive teams
  • Extensive financial modeling and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to interpret and apply financial data to strategic decision-making
  • Expertise in Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Docs and Excel
  • Familiarity with ATB’s culture and market presence is an asset
