Job Description: Location: North of Toronto – Four times a week onsite!OverviewOur top client in the Industrial sector, North of Toronto is seeking a Director of Enterprise PMO to play a pivotal role in steering the Project Management Office (PMO) across the organization. This position entails the development of project management frameworks, governance structures, and oversight of project portfolios to ensure they are aligned with the organizationâs strategic goals. The Director will collaborate closely with senior leadership to drive successful project outcomes, enhance operational efficiency, and elevate project delivery standards.Core Duties:Strategic Direction: Formulate and execute the vision, strategy, and objectives of the Enterprise PMO, ensuring alignment with the broader goals of the organization. Work with executive teams to prioritize initiatives that resonate with business strategies.Governance Frameworks: Create and implement governance structures, policies, and processes that promote uniform project execution and performance evaluation. Manage the project selection and prioritization framework to optimize resources and improve project results.Project Portfolio Oversight: Oversee the organizationâs project portfolio, ensuring comprehensive visibility into project status, risks, and resource deployment. Track and report on essential performance metrics to assess project success and facilitate ongoing enhancements.Team Building and Mentorship: Assemble and lead a high-achieving PMO team, nurturing a culture that emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and ongoing development. Offer guidance and growth opportunities to project managers and team members.Stakeholder Interaction: Identify and engage with key governance stakeholders, serving as the main liaison for senior management regarding project status, risks, and performance metrics. Promote effective communication and teamwork among project teams, business units, and external partners.Best Practices and Methodologies: Assess and promote the adoption of best practice project management tools and systems that align with PMO goals and enhance project execution. Advocate for a range of project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid models, and provide training sessions to bolster project management skills throughout the organization.Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Go-Getter mentality with an entrepreneurial spirit and ability and desire to work in an autonomous work environment.
- Over 10 years of project management experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership capacity within a PMO.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale, complex projects within a corporate larger setting.
- In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, emphasizing continuous improvement.
- PMP or comparable project management certification is highly preferred.
