Job Description: Your RoleAs a Designer for workplace interiors, your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. As a member of this team, you will be asked to collaborate with senior designers and design directors and participate in all phases of the project. Project types include commercial workplaces; including professional service firms, financial services firms, and technology companies. If you aspire to developing your design point of view and building a career based on design excellence, we’re excited to have you join our team.What You Will DoWork in a team environment and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on varying project types.Collaborate on workplace interior design assignments that include programming, project strategy, client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, consultant coordination, construction documents, construction administration and management of budgets and schedulesCoordinate with junior team members and project architects on delivery of project milestonesParticipate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, lighting, and furniture specificationsProduce graphic presentations including 3D renderings for client presentationsContribute to the production of plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for constructionGenerate finish plans, specifications and material selectionsProvide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design conceptsWork with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, contractors, fabricators and other vendors to meet overall project objectivesClearly communicate your design ideas to the project teamParticipate and contribute to office and firm cultureAssist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordinationEstablish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationshipsYour QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited school5-10+ years of experience as a DesignerProficient in Revit, SketchUp, 3D, including Enscape, VRay, Grasshopper, Rhino and other visualization softwareStrong knowledge of the design process, including FF+E, furniture systems and specifications, color and materialsOutstanding conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideasStrong Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, a plusFlexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of developmentStrong conceptual thinkerClose attention to detail and technical abilitiesHighly capable in communicating design ideas and direction effectively and quicklyA quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environmentStrong leadership, organization, communication, and relationship management skillsDemonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, Passive House, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interviewAll applications must include a portfolio for full consideration.*This is not a remote position.
