Title of the Job: Data Entry Clerk – Edmonton

Location: Edmonton, AB

Job Description: A keen eye and attention to detail is a skill you pride yourself on. You are good with numbers and are able to spot discrepancies quickly – nothing gets past you!As the Accounts Payable Clerk with Broadstreet Properties, you will be responsible for performing data entry and related duties in disbursing accounts payable to individuals, suppliers, corporations, and other entities. In this role, you will also ensure the timely and accurate processing of payment documents using purchase orders, travel reimbursements, stipends, and any other accounting transactions related to accounts payable management.Your contribution to the team includes:

  • Maintaining ledgers, crediting balances, and investigating account irregularities
  • Obtaining approval for disbursements and ensuring that expenditures are correctly coded
  • Processing and posting invoices and expenses
  • Preparing and filling out payments to third parties, whether by EFT, Cheque or credit
  • Auditing purchase requests for materials, supplies, equipment, and other collateral
  • Verifying that orders are charged to the proper accounts
  • Reviewing bills to the company for potential errors and/or discrepancies
  • Investigating and resolving billing discrepancies or misapplied transactions
  • Reviewing all credit balances, refunds, and adjustments, and apply adjustments and/or corrections to corporate billing records.
  • Balancing daily A/P batches; prepare and distribute payment reports and statistics to key personnel.

What you need to be successful:

  • 2 years working experience in a high paced office setting
  • Basic knowledge of accounting systems, budgets and internal controls
  • Accounts Payable experience considered an asset
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and computerized accounting applications
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
