Job Description: Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Platform Data Delivery – Data Analysis team within RBC Borealis is looking for an Enterprise Expert to provide business consulting for strategic projects. This position Functions as in-house data consultant/expert for resolution of complex business issues. This position requires advanced knowledge and abilities in data analysis and the RBC Borealis (previously DNA) environment and the candidate can apply this competency in new and/or complex situations to provide oversight on assignments for the Line of Business. The role is part of a team that works across IT and with assigned business line(s) to enable business objectives and strategies. The role reports to the Director of Platform Data Delivery – Data Analysis. The successful candidate will have strong collaborative skills and prior expert knowledge of the DWE warehouse environment.What will you do?Participate in requirements effort estimation at the portfolio level, Work Intake Committee (WIC) for Business DeliverablesParticipate in Senior Platform Data Delivery Meetings to understand assigned business line’s strategy, business needs and technologyFacilitate complex group meetings (including business partners) for information gathering, decision making, problem solving, project and strategic planningConsult on complex business issues and provide direction for strategic projectsWork in partnership with Data Architects, Data Modelers, Data Engineers, Quality Engineers and Data Delivery Leads to shape the business as partner/influencer by seeking out industry trends and organization knowledgeGovern the adherence of the Data Analysis team to the Agile Analytics enterprise standard requirements methodology in requirements planning, analysis and documentation, overseeing and reviewing artifacts producedEnsure that Data Analysts are supported and coached when taking on assignments in a new line of business, new level of project complexity or new project delivery methodologyLead team training strategy, facilitate training plans for the data analysis team, organize training sessions for emerging skills in new technologies (TRINO & Snowflake)What do you need to succeed?Must HaveExpert Knowledge of Data warehouse, DWE, EDW, CSDM & RBDM on Teradata PlatformExpert SQL skills, Proficiency in Host (Mainframe) with TSOExpertise in data analysis tools and techniques, crucial for deciphering complex datasets.Expertise in engaging and communicating with stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations.Expertise in eliciting and documenting business requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.Nice to HaveAbility to read and understand code, enabling effective communication with development teams.Working knowledge of DIDM (Direct Investing) and IDM (Insurance) data martsProficiency of system design principles, ability to interpret Data flow diagrams and Data Models.Proficiency of data analysis in a Data Lake environment (Python, Scala, Hive, Datameer) and Cloud environment (AWS and/or Azure)What’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
