You will be responsible for producing reports and performing editorial tasks, including gathering information, writing, and presenting programming material for the web, audio, and television. The work is governed by CBC/Radio-Canada’s journalistic standards and programming policies. Regular guidance is available, but the position allows for initiative and judgment. You may be required to coordinate the work of others.Please note that the work schedule for this position begins at 5 a.m.Main Responsibilities:Establish and maintain contacts with a variety of sources.Analyze facts and information collected, draw conclusions, or raise issues requiring further research.Gather information from various sources and report on it.Write web content and enhance it with interactive elements.Produce radio reports.Participate in the Téléjournal Ontario.Contribute to social media platforms.Provide ideas or content for programming and participate in preparing newsroom objectives.When necessary, you may also be required to:Critically review content written by others.Coordinate with other employees to ensure the necessary material is available.Present information and analysis on air in various formats.Follow specific news topics that are of interest or concern to the public.Perform other production or administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the newsroom or broadcasts.We are looking for a candidate with the following profile:University education or equivalentAt least two (2) years of relevant experience where the candidate has been exposed to journalism, information technology, and broadcasting technologies (radio, television, and online services)Ability to demonstrate originality and creativity in producing news for online services, radio, and television, along with proven writing skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong team spiritComfort with the requirements and needs of news production for radio, television, and online platformsStrong organizational skills; ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and quicklyAbility to solve problems independently and in group discussions (open to new ideas and approaches)Availability to work flexible hours and overtimeUnderstanding of the work structure and processes at Radio-Canada in regional centers, and ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues from other centersSolid knowledge/understanding of Northern Ontario and issues affecting Franco-Ontarian communitiesBilingualism requiredCandidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.CBC/Radio-Canada is committed to being a leader in reflecting our country’s diversity.
