Overview:Avison Young’s finance department is growing and developing, the team spans across Canada in different provincal offices. Avison Young is looking for a Corporate Accountant to join the team based in our Toronto office. Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly GST/HST/QST reconciliation and returns
• Daily / weekly bank reconciliations
• Managing and recording treasury transactions and ad hoc reporting
• Prepare monthly revenue reconciliation
• Regular intercompany reconciliation
• Prepare month-end supporting schedules such as accrual and prepaid schedules, create and post related journal entries
• Analyze, reconcile, and prepare cost allocation among different divisions
• Fixed Asset Ledger maintenance (track additions, dispositions, and post monthly amortization)
• Monthly Invoicing/ Other Billings as required
• Provide support during quarterly and annual audits as required
• Provide support during annual budget process as required
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of accounting experience required; experience in Commercial Real Estate industry considered an asset
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, advanced Excel abilities required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Organized and able to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team
• Must be proactive with a keen sense of urgency
