We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.As a member of the Manufacturing Operations team, you will fulfill the role of a Coordinator on shift and liaise between internal teams and shifts to ensure that the management of the team to achieve operational goals and material/product supply are given the appropriate attention and prioritization.What You’ll DoCoordinates and expedites flow of materials according to production or department priorities. Complies and maintains records, review production schedules and related information. Consults with department Supervisor to determine department requirements, organize work, and maintain work schedule. Establish priorities of work assignment input, as needed. Solve a wide range of problems requiring some interpretation of defined procedures and practices. Select methods and practices with guidance from Supervisor/Team Leader to obtain robust, thorough, and practical solutions.In addition to a primary production role of ensuring the correct materials are available on time, in the right quantities and stored in the proper locations the Coordinator Material will interface with personnel in other areas.Receives materials, approves protocols, sorts, and incubates cartridges as required and participates in testing when time permits – approximately 30% of the time.Participates in the day-to-day activities within the laboratory. This includes (but is not limited to): order materials and monitoring of Test Lab inventory (QAD, Excel, etc.), create shift reports and non-conformance reports when needed.Assists in organizing engineering experiments, planned equipment maintenance, and planned lab shutdowns.Approves test instructions for non-production studies.Supports testing of all product types when required.The first point of contact for all manufacturing issues in absence of Supervisor/Team Leader.Acts as a resource to Manufacturing and test areas on issues. Maintains open communication with other process groups and attends daily Huddles to convey any Test Lab concerns.Collaborates with Supervisor/ Team Leader to coordinate production flow.Monitors product flow, raw materials and other key consumables in designated area and manages them to meet production targets.Provides feedback to Supervisor/Team Leader on the progress and barriers to achieving production goals.Monitors product flow, raw materials and other key consumables in designated area and manages them to meet production targets.Follows and ensures compliance to workplace operating and environmental, health and safety procedures and guidelines.Assists with regular Health and Safety audits, recording and reporting findings to Team Leader and Supervisor.Assists in organizing engineering experiments and planned lab shutdowns.Implements improvements that will positively affect quality, productivity, and costs of the material handling operations.Understands and complies with Quality and EH&S policies, procedures, and guidelines.Acts as a role model and ensures operating procedures are followed.Communicates ideas and suggestions for improving processes to leadership and actively participates in implementing solutions.4X4 B Shift Extended, rotating 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, four days on four days off.Miscellaneous other duties may be required.Required QualificationsOne to three years College Diploma in relevant field.One to three years relevant work experience.Ability to plan, organize and prioritize own daily work to meet established schedule.Demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task.Ability to convey communications clearly, concisely, and accurately.Ability to form and develop interpersonal, professional relationships; display socially and professionally appropriate behavior.Ability to manage production workload and tasks to meet deadlines and ensure continuity of supply for the business is sustained.Ability to work independently and in groups.Knowledge of Quality requirements within a regulated, GMP environment.Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
