The RoleThe English Language Learning and Acquisition Department is seeking to expand its list of contract instructors qualified to teach both EAP and TESL courses.
ResponsibilitiesAs a contract instructor in the ELLA Department, you will:

• Develop course outlines following curriculum guidelines;
• Select and create teaching materials;
• Manage teaching and learning resources through the college’s Learning Management System (LMS);
• Deliver quality learner-centred instruction;
• Design assignments and assessment criteria;
• Evaluate student progress;
• Observe and evaluate practicum students;
• Hold regular office hours; and
• Maintain currency in the field through regular professional development.

To Be Successful in this Role You Will NeedThe successful candidates will have:

• A minimum of a Master’s degree in TESL, Applied Linguistics, or equivalent;
• TESL Canada Professional Standard 3 Certification;
• A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching adult EAP;
• Demonstrated experience of teaching in a TESL program;
• Experience teaching with a Learning Management System;
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team, excellent communication skills, demonstrated initiative, self-directedness; and
• Evidence of ongoing professional development in EAP and TESL.

Training and experience teaching LINC is an asset.
