Job Description: The Confined Space Rescue Technician is expected to participate in rescue situations and critical tasks.Duties/Responsibilities:
- Facilitate rescue in the event of an incident involving personnel who are working in confined spaces
- Inspect, inventory and document all equipment at the beginning of each shift
- Set up and test communications and alarm systems.
- Ensure all gas detection and breathing apparatus equipment is inspected prior to use and passes a function test. Must have the ability to set up and dismantle both breathing air systems and gas detection equipment.
- Ability to problem solve and utilize interpersonal skills while maintaining a level of professionalism at all times.
- Knowledge of the whereabouts of all safety equipment
- Other duties will be assigned as necessary
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a Confined Rescue capacity is considered an asset
- Standard First Aid/CPR
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good vision / hearing
- Clean drivers abstract
- Experience running breathing air systems
Physically capable of performing the following tasks:
- Working at heights and / or climbing ladders or stairs
- Working in small / confined spaces
- Lifting up to 50lbs
- Pushing / pulling (tools / objects)
- Sitting / driving
- Bending / kneeling / crouching
- Standing / walking for long periods of time
- Working in adverse weather environments (heat / cold) and conditions (rain / wind / snow)
Potential shift lengths 10 – 12 hours, should be available to work longer if client requires longer shifts or schedule changes*Additional training and certifications may be necessary to meet client specifications.Position Requirements
