Job Description: The Opportunity:Company, Department: Power Generation Fuels FinanceLocation: Halifax, Nova Scotia – HybridClosing Date: October 30, 2024Are you ready to apply your knowledge in the real world? We are hiring a Co-op, Fuels Finance for the Winter Term with our Power Generation Fuels Finance team.What you’ll do:We’ll treat you as one of our own and your key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Assisting with the month end financial close process by assembling data and preparing journal entries;
  • Preparing Balance Sheet and Income Statement account reconciliations;
  • Working with the front-office group to reconcile transactions relating to natural gas and power;
  • Assisting with the processing of payments to counterparties for fuel purchases;
  • Generating invoices for purchases of generation from Independent Power Producers;
  • Preparing process documentation;
  • Performing analysis on ad-hoc inquiries from other business units.

Who you are:Working as a valued part of our Fuels Finance team, you will bring:

  • You must be working towards a Business degree and have completed the first two years of your degree and be enrolled in a co-op program.
  • You must have a strong attention to detail, can work independently, and be a decision-maker. You must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite and have strong Excel experience.
