Job Description: My mom is living independently in a three-bedroom condo. She has fallen multiple times recently, leading us to believe that she needs someone to look after her during the day, specifically from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. However, the caretaker does not need to work the full 12 hours. We require someone to be present at 8 a.m. to prepare breakfast for her, usually a fried egg and toast or porridge, and then to monitor her exercise. The caretaker also need to perform some cleaning tasks and laundry, while my mom rests in her heated chair. The caretaker would be responsible for preparing lunch for her at around noon to 1 p.m. After lunch, she generally takes a nap or rests, which would give the caretaker a break until approximately 5 p.m. At this time, the caretaker would prepare dinner and set up a drinking station for her before leaving the house/or stop working for the evening.
