This position is in Cargillâs agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.Job Purpose and ImpactThe Canola Oil Trader will provide strategy execution for trading support, commercial direction, risk management and financial risk trading and optimization strategies, serving as domain specialist conducting face-to-face and remote selling to both new and existing customers. In this role, you will lead a team through a highly complex, multi country landscape of competitive coproducts to provide additional value to the business and independently generate income through the sale, management, and logistics of all domestic/export cash oil for the Canadian canola crush business. In addition to executing complex trading work, you will also be responsible for controlling risk and develop merchandising strategies and month end P&L responsibilities.Key Accountabilities
- Apply expert knowledge and comprehension of trading practices and procedures to execute long term trading strategies and books for specific commodities, markets or customers based on speculative and hedge positions.
- Oversee the team’s profit and loss on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Execute strategy in the execution and monitoring of higher trading positions and exposures.
- Partner collaboratively with internal and external customers, strategic brokers, and agents as needed to provide strategic oversight and monitoring of higher risk trading positions.
- Provide market intel to key stakeholders across various enterprises within the veg oil complex.
- Provide data and analysis of oil markets as part of oil supply/demand data process and as an input to positioning cash business and futures trading, as well as oversee logistics, trading game-plans, accounts receivables and contract execution.
- Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Understanding of, and experience using data visualization and data analytics tools and applications
- Proven risk management & derivatives trading experience
- Minimum of six years of related work experience
- Ability to travel for business globally up to 15%
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of supervisory experience
