Responsibilities
– Understanding business goals and objectives in a complex technical and process-driven environment.
– Elicitation of business requirements and support of the development of technical and procedural solutions that will improve service delivery to staff
and citizens. This includes working closely with Engineering, IT, and frontline teams to ensure requirements and solutions are well-analyzed and
mapped out to optimize business needs.
– Current-state and future-state business process mapping.
– Collaboration with project and program managers and teams to define the sequencing of project activities to manage conflicting priorities and reduce
risk.
– Analyze and improve technical and business processes.
– Develop and document support models and metrics, including baselines, KPIs, etc.
– Provide subject matter expertise to junior staff regarding best practices for business analysis.Qualifications
Mandatory Qualifications1) Five (5) years recent experience working in the role of a Business Analyst or Business Process Analyst.Desirable Qualifications:1. Aptitude to work autonomously, make decisions daily with little supervision, and assume ownership over work assigned;
2. Strong experience in technical project delivery to operational (frontline) staff;
3. Excellent requirements-gathering skills, including elicitation, facilitation, and documentation;
4. Experience collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy;
5. Experience in project management, planning, reporting, and estimating;
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate both internally and externally with personnel at all levels;
7. Previous work experience in the public sector, emergency services, or government is considered an asset;
8. Experience in organizational change management (OCM) is considered an asset;
9. Business analysis certification is considered an asset.Summary
