Our aim is to forge connections among faculty, undergraduates, graduate students, and community members committed to critical dialogue exploring the social, political, historical, and institutional structures affecting 2SLGBTQ+ and BIPOC lives and communities.Your opportunity:Working under the general direction of the Director, Sexual Diversity, the Business Officer and Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing aspects of the financial operation and administration of the Centre and its Programs. Responsibilities include generating financial reports; processing invoices; coordinating the program budget; tracking and reconciling accounts.The incumbent also provides support to the Director and the Centre including responding to correspondence; acting as the front-line contact by receiving and screening incoming calls and answering inquiries on behalf of the Directors. The Business Officer and Program Coordinator schedules meetings, coordinates admissions and registration; administers ROSI functions;assists potential and current students with enquiries. The Business Officer and Program Coordinator also supports the Graduate Collaborative Specialization in Sexual Diversity Studies, including enrolment, working with ACORN, and supporting the distribution of awards.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and administering expenditures for operating budget
  • Monitoring department budget to ensure expenditures remain within budgeted allocations
  • Applying the University Guide to Financial Management and other applicable policies, agency and regulatory requirements
  • Generating standard financial reports
  • Acting as the first point of contact for general enquiries
  • Coordinating the preparation and distribution of program and/or course material
  • Collecting and submitting course enrollment counts
  • Coordinating the recruitment of teaching assistants, course instructors, sessional lecturers and/or stipend instructors

Essential Qualifications:

  • Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years recent and related administrative and financial experience.
  • Experience managing and prioritizing a complex schedule.
  • Experience financial processing in FIS and HRIS or similar systems.
  • Experience updating student information in ROSI or similar student systems.
  • Experience preparingbudget statements.
  • Experience providing front line support to academic programs.
  • Experience recruiting and supporting TA hiring and placements.
  • Experience working with students and providing advice on program requirements.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including: Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective organizational, problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
