Job Description: On target income (OTI) is composed of your base salary + commission/bonus structure. OTI is a forecast of your potential earnings for the role.Our client is the first firm in Canada to bring together a fast-growing M&A advisory, game‑changing private capital and big data consultancy team together under one roof!In only a few short years, they have grown to become an established industry powerhouse with a track record of getting deals done for and investing directly in owner-operated businesses.They are looking for a driven and growth minded Business Development Representative to join their thriving team!The Role:
Your main responsibility is to connect suitable acquisition / investment targets to our clients (large PE shops and their portfolio companies, as well as corporates), whose deal criteria and personnel you will get to know intimately.You are a “connector of dots”, a great listener and even better at asking great questions!
You are goal-oriented, and thrive on exceeding targets.
The natural career progression of this role is to become the main point of contact for our clients, expanding your relationship management scope and responsibilities.**The role is hybrid – in office 2 days per week (downtown location close to Union station).Responsibilities:

  • Monitor deal opportunities across the organization in our CRM, and match such opportunities with current and prospective clients.
  • Reach out to clients via email / phone with these opportunities.
  • Speak to our clients regularly, to update and document their investment criteria
  • Achieve or exceed personal monthly targets.
  • Maintain and update an accurate log of activity in our CRM
  • Contribute to our AI initiatives re: matching
  • Exhibit a thirst for ongoing learning and development to ensure professional growth, and increased knowledge of M&A and capital markets

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, business, or a relevant field, having graduated near the top of your class
  • Up to two years of relevant experience in corporate finance, deal origination, M&A advisory, B2B business development
  • Keen understanding of M&A, private equity
  • Outstanding ability to “connect the dots”, to make sense of and document key points of interactions with clients
  • Outstanding attention to details, completeness, and organization across hundreds of records. A innate drive to see things through to the very end.
  • Outstanding short-form written communication skills
