Provide functional support for specific systems and of the underlying business environment, processes, and workflows. Advise and assist clients in support of system enhancements and technology roadmaps for applications, infrastructure, and services. Participate in the creation of application and/or infrastructure lifecycle strategy and roadmap solutions.Job DescriptionWhat NAV CANADA offers you:Challenging, team-oriented work environmentCompetitive compensation and flexible benefitsDefined benefit pension planOpportunities for growth and developmentFlexible work arrangementsDiverse and inclusive workforceKey Accountabilities:Assists in the development of the initiatives (projects and lifecycle), and in the formulation of innovative forward-thinking strategies, plans, and system roadmaps to advance business needs and reduce costs.Contributes to the development of specifications and evaluation criteria for inclusion in requests for proposal and other contracting documents, providing input to acquire solutions, professional and consulting services, participating in the evaluation of vendor proposals/bids.Participates in assessing the business, technical and economic viability, and practicality of the solutions in meeting client requirements.Participates in planning, providing clear estimations and timelines for when activities and commitment dates will be met.Keeps abreast of emerging computing trends, evolving business processes, external vendor solutions and technology platforms specific to areas of specialization.Participates in the development of business process definition, including eliciting current state processes, analysis of the current business environment and facilitating the definition of future state processes and recommendations that are valid, traceable, and justifiable.Participates in the development of detailed requirements, functional specifications, and application configurations.Undertakes/or liaises with change and project teams engaged in the design/development of application, infrastructure and technology solutions and software installations.Participates in delivering system testing and documenting requirements; configuring, automating, documenting, and performing test cases and test scripts to identify and correct issues or to verify desired functionality.Under Manager’s and/or Team Lead’s direction, may lead in moderately complex or multiple moderately complex project(s), including cross-functional projects as well as guiding and developing junior team members.Job RequirementsEducation:Graduated from a recognized university or college with a degree/certification in Computer Sciences/Information Technology, Business Administration, MBA and/or Aviation and at least 5 years related experience OR an acceptable combination of education, related experience, and training.Experience:5+ years of experience in the development of business requirements and translating those business needs into functional and technical requirements for simple and complex systems.Experience in configuring, supporting, testing, and implementing enhancements as well as support maintenance items in platform applications.Experience developing test cases and performing all levels of testing and defect management.Experience working directly with vendors communicating issues, priorities and coordinating delivery of software fixes and enhancements.Knowledge:Knowledge of business analysis methodologies, practices, tools, and techniques.Knowledge of modern software development life cycle processes, practices, and techniques, including Agile, Scrum and DevOps.Knowledge of traditional system development methodologies and techniques.Knowledge of software configuration management processes, practices, tools, and techniques.Knowledge of cybersecurity considerations in systems.Knowledge of project management processes and procedures.Knowledge of industry trends, developments and business policies, processes, workflows, and systems in functional area of specialization.Knowledge of supported corporate systems including applications and infrastructure on premise and in cloud-based environments.Knowledge of the ServiceNow platform.Abilities:Skill in identifying, analyzing, and specifying business processes and requirements and determining how these can best be met within the limitations of time, budget, and staff resources.Skill in testing, detecting, analyzing system deficiencies, and recommending system remediation and/or new actions/process improvements.Skill in professional discussions with internal customers, stakeholders, and management and with external consultants and industry to ensure that important aspects are not overlooked.Skill in writing clear, cohesive, and concise documentation that is easily understandable by colleagues, management, stakeholders, and customers.Skill in communicating clearly in conversation and in presentations to both technical and non-technical staff and management.Personal Suitability:Effective interpersonal skills: tact, diplomacy, and leadership;
