Job Purpose:Grow sales within Territory to achieve desired targets while acting as the principal contact with independent dealer/hardware store personnel to build and maintain effective customer relationships.Essential Job Results:The primary result expected from the Territory Sales Manager will be to attain sales revenue and contribution goals. Results will reflect that the associate is a sales professional, high sales achiever and results oriented individual, with a strong customer focus.Department: Distribution & Auto Sales Channel
Reports TO: Senior Manager, Distribution Sales
Travel: Frequent (Must have a valid passport and ability to travel to the USA)ResponsibilitiesTypical tasks for this position include (but not limited to) the following:
- Achieve sales targets within territory.
- Maximize customer calls within territory.
- Sell product and programs to direct/indirect buying dealers (i.e., BMR, Timber Mart, RONA) and others.
Develop, present, and execute marketing plans to direct/indirect dealer base. * Educate and work closely with distributor sales personnel/dealers (product knowledge, application, demonstrations, and category management)
- Provide merchandising assistance/materials to enhance sales.
- Participate in trade shows and customer events.
- Execute corporate promotional programs at store level.
- Execute channel displacement programs to lift competitor products. • Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
- Monitor customer goods to determine focus of sales efforts.
- Time and territory management: database management; coverage planning; expense management; forecasting
Skills Required
- Bilingual (French & English)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Excellent selling skills, independent worker, customer service skills, and the ability to build relationships are crucial.
- Proven leadership, decision-making, problem solving, negotiating and project management skills are required.
- Selected candidate will be results oriented and a high performer, who is customer focused, a self-starter and able to manage their own time, schedule and sales territory.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills are required.
- Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid G2 driver’s license.
- Must have a valid passport and ability to travel to the USA.
- Due to the region covered, preference will be given to someone located in South Shore (Montéregie) / Eastern Townships (Canton de l’Est) and could also extend to (Mauricie Bois Francs)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in territory retail sales. Experience in Hardlines, Paint and Coatings, Retail and/or Consumer Packaged Goods would be an asset.
