Title of the Job: Bilingual Purchasing Officer

Location: Ottawa, ON

Job Description: Robert Half is partnering with an organization that’s looking for a Bilingual Purchaser to join their team. This is a full-time/permanent position located in the Ottawa-East region.Advantages:

• Evaluate market value materials prices to aid in informed decision-making
• Record and compare bids from several vendors and subcontractors considering price, availability, and quality
• Identify strategies to reduce the costs of equipment and supplies while evaluating market trends
• Attend events, shows, and exhibitions for networking with vendors and viewing new products
• Prepare detailed reports for financial controller to assist in final decision making
• Negotiate sale agreements and supply contracts beneficial to the company
• Generate purchase orders and submit to selected vendors/subcontractors
• Ensure timely follow-up on orders to verify materials/work performed are on schedule
• Approve any discrepancies between Purchase Orders and Vendor invoices

Qualifications:

• Must be bilingual in both official languages (English & French)
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred
• 3+ years of experience in a purchasing role or related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated experience in Purchasing Activities, Purchasing Functions, and Purchasing Management
• Knowledge in Purchasing Materials and Subcontract Management
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
