Job Description: About Our ClientOur client is a prestigious audit, accounting, and business advisory firm renowned within the offshore financial services community. Specializing in audit and related services for investment funds, captive insurance entities, fiduciary service providers, and fund administrators, they serve a diverse clientele, including large international corporations, owner-managed businesses, and individuals.Role SummaryWe are seeking an Audit Director with extensive experience in insurance audits, ideally from a Big 4 firm. This senior leadership role involves managing audit engagements, leading audit teams, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional audit services to our clients.Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage audit engagements for insurance clients (primarily captives – single owner, group, SPCs and PICs), ensuring compliance with auditing standards (ISA and USGAAS), accounting standards (IFRS and USGAAP) and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement audit strategies, methodologies, and best practices specific to the insurance industry.
  • Review and analyse financial statements, audit reports, and audit findings.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to clients based on audit outcomes.
  • Mentor and develop audit professionals, fostering a high-performing team environment.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on audit and financial matters.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging audit practices within the insurance sector.
  • Participate in business development activities, identifying opportunities to grow our audit services.

Requirements

  • Internationally recognized professional accountancy qualification is mandatory.
  • Proven experience within insurance audit is mandatory.
  • Background from a Big 4 firm is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of major auditing and accounting standards, regulations, and best practices relevant to the insurance industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in audit software and financial analysis tools.
