If you share a passion for performance, value a collegial and collaborative culture, and approach everything with the highest integrity, here’s an opportunity for you to invest your career at CPP Investments.Job DescriptionThe Data Contract Associate, part of the Technology and Operations, Data Scouting team, supports end-to-end data procurement and vendor management, including requirements definition in partnership with data owners and contracting in partnership with the Legal team, as required. Their key responsibilities include requirements gathering with data owners, data contract lifecycle management within the enterprise CLM (including amendments, renewals, and change management), supporting the negotiation of requirements and other key considerations in contracting in line with data procurement standards, playbooks and current CPP Investments’ policies and procedures.Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively monitor the pipeline for upcoming contract expirations and collaborate with contract owners to gather requirements.
  • Support contract owners in contract revisions by ensuring, the contract terms reflect guidance set out in data procurement standards, playbooks, and current CPP Investments’ policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with third party risk management counterparts and partner with the Legal team to effectively mitigate, manage and allocate risk.
  • Facilitate the approval and signature process for contracts with CPP Investments’ signatories and vendors.
  • Handle day-to-day activities throughout the end-to-end contract lifecycle processes in collaboration with contract owners and in line with data procurement standards, playbooks and CPP Investments’ policies and procedures.
  • Perform analysis and develop reporting metrics to help identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency and to support decision making (e.g.: contract expiry analysis, variances in standard terms, cycle times etc.).

Position RequirementsSkills & Capabilities

  • Familiarity with contract terminologies & their implications. Knowledge on Data (market data) contracts is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to scrutinize contract terms, identify potential risks, inconsistencies and suggest solutions for issue/dispute resolution and risk mitigation.
  • Strong proficiency in written communication skills to draft contracts and verbal communications skills to support vendor negotiations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and support multiple engagements across various business teams with minimal oversight.
  • Proficiency in contract management software (preferably Onit) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

  • University degree or diploma education, preferably in business administration or paralegal courses.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in contract management profile.
