This role oversees design quality, maintains accessibility standards and ensures the CBC promotional and brand work is innovative using sophisticated techniques and professional experience.This role supports the direction of the Senior Creative Director, and the CBC Brand and MarComms Strategy, working with defined stakeholders to support objectives and goals. This role is responsible for the brand direction, concept design, fulfillment, production quality, delivery and integration of each project in alignment with the creative and marketing objectives.Work is performed according to accepted CBC and industry standards, and there is wide latitude for independent action, judgment and initiative. Duties are performed in collaboration with internal and external partners. There are requirements to be self-administered with the expectation of producing desired results within guidelines.Tasks and responsibilities:Working closely with the assigned creative team, develops visual concepts and the overall creative design/tone for projects.Makes presentations using diplomacy in the discussion and promotion of creative concepts, conclusions and recommendations.Supports promotional productions, working with Producers, Directors and/or external vendors.Advises other designers of concepts, brand direction, accessibility or quality.Coordinates the activities of the creative team to ensure quality assurance, innovation and timely delivery of assets or concepts.Supports building full, detailed estimates taking into account the duration complexity of the project. Works within the established budget and controls the design costs, monitoring deviations and taking corrective measures.Consults with other specialists involved throughout the production and post-production processes of the project to ensure continuity of creative concept, including the optimum design, aural, and visual unity.Performs all or part of the function or duties of an equivalent or lower classification.Your profile:A relevant post-secondary education degree such as Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Design, Advertising, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Art, Art Direction, Composition, Media Design, Technology, Visual Communications or related fieldFive (5) to ten (10) years of work experience, including time leading teams and overseeing brand designKnowledge of and experience with production including broadcast, digital, video, photography, event and print/collateralA portfolio that shows a range of styles and types of clients including broadcastAbility to play a strategic role on account teams – a thinker, not just a doerDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively with both creative and account teamsFamiliarity with creative and project management software, such as Adobe Workfront and the Google Suite of productsFour (4) years of directly related experience in television, film or theatre, including demonstrated experience on projects or programs that required creative and innovative contributionsCandidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.CBC/Radio-Canada is committed to being a leader in reflecting our country’s diversity.
