  • Experience working with anesthesia equipment/supplies preferred.
  • Experience in Endoscope processing and OR instrumentation preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Grade 12 or recognized equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a regionally recognized and approved Sterile Processing Program from an accredited institution.
  • New employees will be required to pass a test administered by the department upon completion of the Anesthesia Aide Training Program.

Certification/Licensure/RegistrationNot ApplicableQualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to safely handle and work with technologically complex equipment.
  • Understanding of medical/surgical terminology required.
  • Demonstrated safe handling, care and tolerance of chemical solutions.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Positive communication and interpersonal skills essential.
  • Position involves meticulous attention to detail; maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to withstand bending, lifting, standing and walking in the execution of duties.
  • Position involves some lifting of heavy equipment.
  • May be required to work extended hours.
  • May involve exposure to disease, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens etc.
  • May encounter aggressive and/or agitated individuals.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT.
