We welcome all interested persons who self-identify as Indigenous, Black/African Nova Scotians, Persons of Colour, Immigrants/Newcomers, Persons with Disabilities, 2SLGBTQIA+ to apply to support our goal for our workforce to be representative of the patients, families, and communities that we care for at all job levels.The OpportunityReporting to the Manager of the Pediatric Perioperative Program, the Anesthesia Technician provides technical assistance to the Anesthetists pre-operatively, intra-operatively, and post-operatively with equipment and supplies required for each procedure.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ensuring equipment and supplies are functional prior to each anesthetic procedure, maintaining adequate supplies, drugs and equipment in the pediatric operating room, and providing technical assistance for anesthesia equipment and supplies.Hours of WorkMonday – Friday, 0630-1430pm and 10-6 pm rotating shiftsYour Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D required
  • Successful completion of a recognized one-year training program in Anesthesia Technology required
  • Minimum of two (2) years relevant perioperative experience preferred
  • Current successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support Level (BLS) Program within the last 12 months, or successful completion of a BLS Renewal Challenge Certificate, required.
  • Understands and demonstrates a commitment to Family Centred Care and workplace diversity
  • Able to maintain confidentiality in patient, family and employee information
  • Maintains high ethical standards, integrity, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrates collaboration and cooperative decision-making when working with a team
  • Competencies in other languages an asset
