• Support individual insurance pricing projects as required which includes but is not limited to, creating and updating pricing models for pricing initiatives, evaluating product design, and assessing product profitability
• Gain exposure to core operations of a life insurance company by interacting with various business units in ivari including Corporate Actuarial and Product Management
• Support other business needs such as inforce management and special quotes
• Ensure that comprehensive and reliable actuarial models are developed and monitored
• Ensure clear and concise communication to superiors, focused on business drivers
• Provide value added analysis of results, focusing on earnings and capital
• Comply with actuarial valuation standards, CIA guidance material and OSFI guidelines, including the new accounting and capital frameworks (IFRS-17 and LICAT)
• Become subject matter expert in the assigned line of business (understand pricing, valuation, capital, business drivers, etc.)

What we are looking for…

• ASA working towards FSA/FCIA
• University degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics, or Mathematics
• Minimum of 2+ years relevant experience in the life insurance industry
• Good life insurance product knowledge
• Familiar with actuarial modelling in AXIS from Moody’s Analytics
• Advanced Excel and database (MS Access or SQL) skills
• Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Autonomous in their development
