Job Description: Overview:Fountain Tire is immediately looking for an Accountant l with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to join our Corporate Accounting team in our South Edmonton Head Office!This is a temporary position with an expected end date of April 25, 2025What do we offerat Fountain Tire?

Key Responsibilities:

• Monthly Financial Close: Resolve prior month items, complete and coordinate month-end checklist, perform variance analysis, and prepare financial statements and sign-off package.
• Consolidation Close: Record consolidating journal entries, review supporting documents, assist with financial analysis, and complete sign-off.
• Document Management: Participate in the documentation, recording and completion of share transactions, new store start-ups and closures as required.
• Quarterly Forecast: Implement process changes, maintain and communicate timeline, review and release templates, ensure accurate data consolidation.
• Quarterly Reporting: Prepare supporting schedules for management discussion and financial analysis.
• Annual Budget Process: Implement process changes, manage timeline, communicate with stakeholders, verify data, and ensure accurate reporting and consolidation.
• Team Collaboration: Maintain strong relationships with team leads, provide customer service, and assess transactional and reporting needs.
• Project Reporting: Track projects and provide accurate monthly reports to project leads.
• Year-End Tasks: Complete year-end tasks, including audit requirements, by deadlines.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to accounting processes and controls.

Reqquire Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• College Diploma with a major in Accounting and 3 to 5 years of related experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Enrolment in an Accounting designation (CPA).
• Working knowledge of financial statement preparation and reporting.
• Communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to work with a variety of people in a team environment.
• Proven organizational and time management skills in order to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing demands within tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated analytical skills with an attention to detail in order to research and escalate issues.
• Demonstrated initiative in recognizing opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
• Working knowledge of tax return preparation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other Financial Reporting software (FRX, Target, Anaplan, TaxPrep).
