Job Description: Your Opportunity:Reporting to the Manager of the NECHC Ambulatory Clinics, the incumbent will work with patients of all ages and their families of Northeast Edmonton. Population served can be from high-risk social determinants of health, new Canadians. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be responsible for the management of the patient throughout the clinic visits. Will be in consult with the Physician, Nurse Practitioner and other Healthcare team members to provide best possible care options. The nature of this clinic allows for the LPN to use critical thinking skills and experience to provide best possible care for the patients.Description:As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years, recent experience (within the last 3-5 years), in an Ambulatory Care/Outpatient/IV Therapy setting is required. Training and experience utilizing Connect Care; both for scheduling and EMR. Must be able to work in a physically challenging environment, constant walking, lifting and bending necessary. Comprehensive patient assessment and decision making. Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and independence of working to full scope of practice. Proficiency with IV initiation and maintenance required. Strong critical thinking skills, along with demonstrated time-management and organization skills. Wound Care experience required. Preferred Qualifications:Work experience in an IV Therapy or acute care setting.
