We’re collaborating to improve the social inclusion of Albertans.For more information on the work of our Ministry, please visit:Role ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Manager of the Investigation Unit and working in collaboration with the Manager of Program Integrity and Fraud Awareness, the Team Lead/Senior Investigator manages and participates in the work of the province wide investigative group.In this role, the Team Lead has the opportunity to supervise staff that have been assigned investigations, related to alleged misuse of abuse of program benefits, and review evidence to evaluate and decide on a criminal prosecution. You may yourself carry a caseload and perform complex investigations, including internal investigations on Seniors, Community and Social Services staff.As a member of the unit ‘s leadership team, you will provide direction on the implementation of goals and strategies and the help build an effective team. You will also translate broad organizational need into meaningful, functional actions taken by staff.This role provides the opportunity to consult, collaborate, and build relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally. This will improve the exchange on information on trends and process improvements. Due to the nature of investigations, interactions with suspects, witnesses, and program clients can be challenging. At times it can be adversarial, therefore well-developed skills in communication, problem solving, and professional conduct are very important for success in the role.As a team lead senior investigator, you will be playing a significant role in establishing and maintaining a work environment that is conductive to employee satisfaction and productivity. The ability to de-escalate confrontational situations will be a key attribute of the role.To be successful in this role, the candidate must possess the following:

Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience mentoring individuals is required.You must be eligible and able to obtain Commissioner of Oaths and Alberta Peace Officer appointments.Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a reliable vehicle as travel is required.Assets:
