Job Description: Job Description72501 – Procurement ManagerThe Opportunity:Executrade is happy to partner with a local company in search for a Procurement Manager to join their team!As the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for utilizing your expert knowledge to purchase quality products that meet company’s specifications while building and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers.Key Responsibilities· Oversee all inventory procurement activities, including procurement schedules, inventory levels, and manufacturer selections.· Negotiate purchase contracts, ensuring compliance with company specifications and legal requirements.· Discuss and provide recommendations on stock requirements· Ensure timely procurement of long and short lead inventory, maintaining relevant data on past RFQ completion dates.· Develop and implement an effective expediting process for procurement activities.· Coordinate and manage stock transfers and surplus transactions across local and regional branches.· Stay updated on manufacturing standards, customer needs, and market requirements.· Maintain organized records of procurement communications, RFQs, vendor responses, and comparison sheets.· Collaborate with Quality Management to evaluate manufacturers, manage nonconforming products, and implement corrective actions.· Work with IT to enhance forecast purchasing modules in ERP and develop automated reporting functionalities.· Communicate inventory strategies and changes to internal stakeholders, especially in relation to storage and operations.· Assist Accounting with physical inventory management, product claims, and monthly financial reporting.· Ensure compliance with safety regulations to protect employees, the public, and company property.· Interview, hire, and oversee the training of procurement staff.· Manage procurement employee relations, including performance appraisals and morale.Required Skills and Qualifications· Post-secondary education in Business, Procurement, or a related field.· 8+ years of proven experience in a similar capacity leading a team.· Technical knowledge of process piping related products supporting the energy sector.· Strong relationship-building skills with strategic suppliers.· Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.· Exceptional oral and written communication skills.· Strong mathematical abilities for calculating discounts, percentages, and averages.· Travel may be required.Please quote Job Reference #72501Please Submit your resume directly to Vivian via email at [email protected]Executrade is one of the largest and most comprehensive full-service recruitment firms in Western Canada, with 11 divisions and locations in Edmonton and Calgary.
